We are still alive in the Henderson household.
Life has been incredibly hectic around here the last few weeks. Something had to give, so blogging was it.
In the last two weeks alone, I have given six exams, graded those exams, entered grades, printed report cards, thrown Bridal shower #1 (which needs a post of its own-so fun!), had 8th grade graduation, thrown bridal shower #2, had my end of the year faculty party, finished my year of teaching, set up for my brother's rehearsal dinner, help get my baby brother married off, closed out my classroom for the year, and now I am packing my bags and heading to the mountains with my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews! To say I can not wait would be an understatement!
The last few weeks have been filled with a range of emotions. I am actually not going back to teaching next year, which has left me with a flood of heartache that I did not expect. No, I am not pregnant. But, some special people need to see the doctor to help build a family and well, teaching isn't conducive to doctor's appointments several times a month. I guess I am just heartbroken- I just expected to be one of the people who get to take maternity leave and hang out at home with their special little blessing, not someone who has to quit their job to work towards that blessing. So, I am taking a leap of faith and hoping that God will honor it. Oh please, Lord...please.
So, I am off for the week. Hopefully a week with the family will help me come back renewed in spirit and renewed in hope, and let me tell you- hope is something I am desperately needing right about now.

Great to hear from you! I love reading your updates. Have fun in the mountains, I hope you are renewed in both mind, body, and soul!! (Hugs)
ReplyDeleteA week with family usually gives me that renewed sense of hope and I pray that you experience the same thing. Career/job changes can be so stressful but focusing on your fertility is a great next step. Your blog has been so helpful to me. I pray that your journey is filled with blessings very soon!
ReplyDeleteI was seriously hoping you'd blog soon, I miss you! When I get back from Aruba not this Tuesday but next, some serious ass-kicking workouts must occur! I am slipping big time haha. But, I think a year off is going to be great for you, and I have tremendous faith that God is going to bless you with just the special little someone He's picked regardless of how it comes about. Thought of you when I read this today: "Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." -Hebrew 4:16 I love you and am praying for you always. God is so very good and faithful.
ReplyDeleteI really hope your vacation rejuvinates you and leaves you feeling refreshed!
ReplyDeleteI completely understand the job thing. I haven't worked in over a year because of doctors appointments and what not. For me it can get a bit awkward when people ask why I don't work and depending on the person, I'll either say the truth or something else.
Praying that your break from teaching will help y'all to grt your little miracle.
Friend! I miss you:) I took a break from the blogosphere too. Now I'm back!
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I am very proud of you for making the decision you made. It is very important for you to focus on your family and with teaching, it is extremely hard. I mean honestly, I missed out 3 months this past year with surgeries. Then after surgeries, I missed out about 5-6 days b.c of appts or other stuff dealing with IF. This will make it easier in some ways. BUT I must be honest. I thought about doing the same last year but I knew myself and I thought I would focus too much on IF and become crazy. Now of course we are different but go ahead and set up a schedule of things to distract you from IF too. Meaning, you don't want to get so wrapped up in it that you can't think of anything else. So start thinking of other things to do during your days. Just a bit of advice. Hope I'm not stepping on any toes. Just an honest thought. BUT I am so proud of you and I am soooo hopeful for you!!!
